Though FaZe survived lower bracket trials against ENVY and HEROIC, they eventually fell to Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev's squad. Dust2 was a tale of two T sides, as BC.Game gained an eight-round lead in the first half. After losing the second-half pistol round, FaZe replied with seven straight attacking wins. FaZe's first match at Roman Imperium Cup IX was in the upper bracket quarterfinals, as the top-seeded team. Their opponents, Sangal, came into the playoffs from a play-in match following the group stage. Both teams stole each other's map pick before FaZe narrowly avoided an upset loss, winning on Cache thanks to timely multi-kills from Russell "Twistzz" Van Dulken and Jakub "jcobbb" Pietruszewski.

FaZe dropped their opening series at Stake Ranked Episode 4 today against Nemiga, adding to their woes as the team fights for a spot in the PGL Singapore Major. While the loss against Nemiga was competitive until the end, it certainly wasn't the result Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken's troops were hoping for as they now 1-8 on maps across four matches. Mirage was FaZe's first big missed opportunity in the series as they failed to convert a 9-3 start on their CT-side.
